ISMOA 2017
The 15-th International Symposium on Modern Optics and Its Applications (ISMOA-2025)
“Bridging Light and Quantum Frontiers”
28 – 31 July 2025, Bali, Indonesia
Prama Sanur Beach Hotel, Sanur, Bali, Indonesia
Partial/full travel supports available for selected participants
from ASEAN and other Asia countries*
The bi-annual International Symposium on Modern Optics and Its Applications (ISMOA) is a key initiative of the Indonesian Optical Society (InOS).
Since its inception in 2001, there has been 14 meetings held, attended by distinguish international scientists and particularly, researchers and students from the region. These meetings were aimed at providing a forum of scientific communication and interactions among regional scientists and distinguished scientists working in the rapidly growing field of modern optics and photonics, covering theoretical, computational and experimental studies of optical/photonic fundamental phenomenon, devices and materials. It also serves as a platform to foster collaboration among researchers, academics, industry, and government while promoting public awareness and literacy in optics.
The 15th International Symposium on Modern Optics and Its Applications (ISMOA) of the Indonesian Optical Society (InOS) is jointly organized by the Physics of Magnetism and Photonics Research Division of Institut Teknologi Bandung and the Department of Physics of Udayana University. The date for the symposium is 28-31 July 2025 with the venue Prama Sanur Beach Hotel, Sanur, Indonesia.
As 2025 marks the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, this symposium will explore the transformative potential of optics and photonics in advancing quantum innovations. From quantum communication and computing to precision sensing and secure information networks, modern optics is at the core of enabling quantum technologies.
The symposium will feature tutorial sessions on the opening day, followed by a three-day seminar. In addition to Keynote addresses, the program will include invited and contributed talks delivered during plenary sessions, along with a dedicated poster presentation session. Each poster presentation will be accompanied by a brief 3-minute oral summary, on the tutorial day, to facilitate engagement and discussion.
